Turn your life around... Start being positive!

What if you were committed to changing some of your seemingly insignificant habits from today? Perhaps you can start the day with the simple goal of being positive  and only discuss positive aspects of life and everything that surrounds us.

Does this seem too ambitious? This is quite possible, as we all tend to focus on the negative. ‘Have you seen how bad things are going?’, ‘I can’t deal with this person anymore, he makes my life impossible.’, ‘Yes, I understand you completely. It happens to me every day and keeps getting worse!’

Sometimes it seems as if our problems and daily dramas join forces to create a vicious circle that, instead of change and improvement, only makes things worse. This is not healthy, not at all.

Talking about what makes us happy  doesn’t mean we’re naive or denying our existing problems, absolutely not. It is a change in our attitude, a more constructive point of view that can help us in our daily life.

Speaking positively is not the same as ignoring your sadness. I take responsibility for my own reality, I understand every aspect that has hurt me and yet I choose to look at life with strength and optimism. This way I can live a healthier life and be a better influence on the people around me.

“Looking on the bright side” isn’t just a popular phrase from a self-help book. It’s the daily support we give ourselves that acts as a lifesaver and helps us keep our heads above water. We’ve all been in difficult situations and maybe things aren’t going well for us now either. Nevertheless, by focusing on the negative in our daily lives, we will never be able to move forward and leave the negative behind.

Focusing on the positive and positive talk heals us and has a positive influence on the people around us. It is true that sometimes it will be difficult and at other times it may even seem impossible, but it is without a doubt a very healthy habit for both your body and your emotions. Pain can be terrible and we can drown in sadness, but it’s the dose of anger in negativity that can really hurt us.

How can I focus on the positive in my daily life?

How can I put my day in a positive and happy light if that’s not how I feel at all? It’s not easy, for sure, so it’s important that you follow these simple tips:

1. Dive into your worries and the things that hurt you. Understand them and discover their ‘shape’:  where do they come from and what can you do to deal with them? If you can’t solve them and if your case is loss, disappointment, betrayal or a simple ‘goodbye’, deal with it as soon as possible and then let it go.

2. Stop having negative conversations. We all sometimes get caught up in almost obsessive thoughts that cause us to think negatively and even fatalistically. Avoid this at all costs; it’s useless.

3. Use positive affirmations. Today will be my day, today everything will go well and today I will feel great…

4. Replace negative statements with positive ones. ‘I deserve the best’ instead of ‘I’m a failure’.

5. Concentrate on the present. Don’t let your well-being depend on what happens tomorrow or on ‘as soon as I get this and that, then…’. Do not do it. Enjoy the present, be happy here and now and enjoy your daily dose of happiness.
