Mindfulness In 5 Steps: Change Your Life In 15 Days

Mindfulness in 5 steps: change your life in 15 days

Big changes come from small shocks, small daily adjustments that have the power to change our lives for the better. Mindfulness can help us do this, and these five steps will help us become more aware of the present moment and make way for real changes in just a short time.

Obviously, when it comes to luck, there are no miracles, unfortunately. But you DO have willpower and open-mindedness so that day by day, little by little, you will become more aware of everything that is happening around you. To be able to see the opportunities that present themselves, to walk through those doors that open for you.

Without a doubt, one of the main factors that prevents us from seeing and taking advantage of our opportunities is having a wandering mind. According to many studies, we spend between 30 and 40% of our time on autopilot.

All our lives we are stuck in a rut where we are only passengers and not drivers, whereby fate determines our happiness.

But this isn’t good enough. Make a change! We invite you to apply these five steps to your life and see the results in just 15 days.

Mindfulness in 5 steps

1. Be receptive to your emotions: the best time to pay attention to them is NOW

Mindfulness, more than anything else, is a philosophy of life, a tool for developing full awareness in the present.

• Nothing would make sense if we didn’t pay attention to our emotions. We can’t move emotions like disappointment, anger, and irritation to a separate part of our brain.

• We must control and act on these emotions, taking control of that inner world and not delaying it.

2. Mindfulness teaches you to stop judging

Learn to go through life without judging. People have the right to decide for themselves what kind of life they want to lead.

• Your life is yours, be responsible for it and don’t judge lives you don’t lead. Something as simple as this can help you achieve a state of peace and balance even today.

3. Be receptive, listen and learn to be present

Do it! Now turn off the incessant sound of your thoughts.

• Now open your eyes, but don’t just look. Instead, try to “see” everything around you with more peace.

• Slow down the pace of your life, stop and breathe.

• Learn to listen now. You’ve ‘heard’ sounds long enough, but now it’s time to feel, see and listen from the heart, from the center of your mind.

You can also learn to be more present in the present moment by managing your time better. If you would like to live a fuller and more complete life, then it is important to lay claim to the right mental filters and focus all your energies and resources on the life you desire.

4. Set aside ‘I MUST BE…’ to practice ‘I AM’

For most of our lives we are concerned with what others expect of us. We force ourselves to belong, to be what others want us to be… All this is nothing more than a source of unnecessary suffering, which slowly makes us unhappy.

Make the necessary changes. Replace ‘I have to be…’ for ‘I am’.

• Meditation can be very helpful in reminding us who we are and getting in touch with our true selves in the present.

Meditation is an essential tool for mindfulness. But there are also plenty of courses that can help you achieve a state of mindfulness. For example, for the Spanish speaking people among us, the online course ‘Mindfulness para la vida cotidiana’ by Félix Torán can be very helpful.

5. Practice Acceptance

Practicing acceptance in our daily lives does not mean that we simply give in to everything that is happening around us.

• It means first of all that we learn to accept ourselves and the emotions we feel.

• Acceptance also allows us to understand and respect the lives of others.

Moreover, acceptance is the language of the heart. It stands for tolerance and understanding. Only by putting acceptance into practice will we be able to bring about real changes in our lives.

Finally, you can see these 5 steps as lenses that you look through to get a sharper view of the world.

Mindfulness is the best framework for bringing us closer to fuller and more authentic happiness. So do not hesitate to use the tools of mindfulness and let yourself be guided along this path by experts in this field.
